CONCORD, Calif. — Cal State East Bay women's cross country was led by a pair of personal-best performances Friday morning at the Saint Mary's Invitational at Newhall Park, as Natalie Goumashyan and Yamilet Deniz each moved onto the program's all-time 6K list.
Goumashyan led the Pioneers across the finish line, placing 50th overall with a personal-best time of 22:04.9. Her performance moved her to 12th on East Bay's all-time 6K list and accounted for 45 points toward the Pioneers' team score.
Deniz followed with a PR of 22:15.7, placing 67th overall and contributing 57 points. Her performance moved her into 15th on East Bay's all-time 6K list.
Melanie Rodriguez made her collegiate cross country debut as East Bay's third scoring runner, placing 113th overall in 23:17.5 and accounting for 81 points.
Grace Veloza followed in 122nd overall at 23:36.8, contributing 82 points. Jocelyn Uraje-Galindo completed the scoring five with a personal-best time of 23:54.1, placing 128th overall and scoring 84 points.
Those five performances combined for East Bay's team total of 349 points and a 12th-place finish among 15 teams.
Paulina Arias crossed in 143rd overall with a time of 24:37.0, while Genevieve Tamondong finished 146th in 24:57.5. The pair rounded out East Bay's seven scoring-eligible runners.
Mikayla Bueno finished 148th in 25:13.2, and Gaby Sanchez crossed in 151st with a time of 25:40.2.
