SAN FRANCISCO - On Friday, the final meet of the 2023 regular season for the Cal State East Bay women's cross country team took place at Golden Gate Park. In the women's 6k of the SF State Invitational, the Pioneers finished eighth among 15 teams (seventh of 12 NCAA Division II teams). Leading the Pioneers on Friday was
Kimberly Lima Pardina, who finished 11th overall.
Lima Pardina's 11th place finish was completed in 22 minutes, 22 seconds and was her third top-15 finish of the season.
Rounding out the top-5 finishers for Cal State East Bay on Friday were
Madison Gomez (24:00.9),
Evelyn Zambrano-Montemayor (24:11.7),
Alyssa Escay (24:59.3) and
Karla Galvan (25:50.1).
Rosie Fordham from Alaska Fairbanks was the top finisher in the women's 6k with a time of 21:25.9. Chico State was the top team in the meet for overall scoring.
With the 2023 season for the Pioneers wrapped up, next is the 2023 CCAA Cross Country Championships on October 21. Cal State East Bay hosts the championship meet at Quarry Lakes Recreation Area in Fremont. Start time for the women's 6k is set for 9 a.m.
