Chase Worthen Honored as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete

NEW ORLEANS – Chase Worthen was named an All-Academic Athlete by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
 
Worthen, the winner of the 1,500 meter race at the 2022 CCAA Track and Field Championship, was one of 400 student athletes named as an All-Academic Athlete. In her final meet of the 2022 season, during the APU Last Chance, Worthen set a personal record in the 1,500 meters of four minutes, 29.33 seconds, climbing to fifth all-time in Pioneer history. 
 
This most recent academic honor for Worthen comes as an addition to being named to the CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll.  
 
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete in NCAA Division II,  a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale must be met (calculated only with hours completed at nominating institution), two semesters must be completed at the nominating institution through spring 2022 and the an automatic or provisional qualifying mark must be achieved for the indoor or outdoor track season.
