CHICO, Calif. - The 2022 All-CCAA Softball Teams were announced on Tuesday. From Cal State East Bay softball, three members of the Pioneers received honors from the conference.
Sarah Fukushima was named to the All-CCAA First Team,
Sarah Duran received All-CCAA Second Team honors and Madeleine Ramirez was named All-CCAA Honorable Mention.
Sarah Fukushima - Sr. - Sacramento/Sheldon HS
All-CCAA First Team - At-Large
Fukushima was named to the All-CCAA First Team for the third time in her career, as she received the same recognition in 2017 and 2019. She has a .385 batting average with five home runs and 17 RBIs.
Sarah Duran - Jr. - Whittier/Cypress College
All-CCAA Second Team - OF
In her first season with the Pioneers, Duran has a .344 batting average, starting all 50 games, and has 11 doubles. In the field, Duran has a .983 fielding percentage.
Madeline Ramirez - Sr. - Chino Hills/Bishop Amat HS
All-CCAA Honorable Mention
Ramirez has five home runs and 34 RBIs in 2022. In a series against Cal State Dominguez Hills, she came through with a two-run home run in the series finale to ensure a doubleheader split.
The No. 6 seed Pioneers are in action this coming Thursday when they play an opening round matchup in the CCAA Softball Tournament in Seaside against No. 3 seed Sonoma State. First pitch from Otter Sports Complex is set for 11 a.m.
