WEEK RECAP: Multiple Performances for Pioneers Break into Top-10 in Program History

AZUSA, Calif./SAN FRANCISCO - The Cal State East Bay men's Track team competed in two meets this past week, including the Bryan Clay Invitational (hosted by Azusa Pacific University) and the Johnny Mathis Invitational (hosted by San Francisco State. Four performances cracked the top-10 in program history, and multiple personal records were set as well. 

Highlights from the Bryan Clay Invitational for Cal State East Bay
  • Julian Johnson finished the men's 5,000 meters with the fifth fastest time in Pioneer history in 14 minutes, 45.09 seconds. 
  • In the men's 10,000 meters, Luke Calubayan (31:51.10), John Bradshaw (32:01.52) and Miles Worthen (32:23.18) had finishes that were seventh, eighth and 10th all time respectively at Cal State East Bay. 
  • Aidan Singh had a personal best in the men's 1,500 meters of 3:59.36. 
Highlights from the Johnny Mathis Invitational for CSUEB
  • Dylan Shubert placed ninth in the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase with a personal best time of 10:26.77.

The Pioneers are scheduled to compete in the CCAA Championships, which take place on May 5-7 from Cox Stadium in San Francisco. Heat assignments will be announced at as the meet approaches.
