BROOKS, Calif. - At Yocha Dehe Golf Club on Tuesday, the second round of the CCAA Championships took place. The Cal State East Bay men's golf team sits in seventh place among eight teams going into the final round.
Highlighting the second round for the Pioneers was a hole-in-one by
Quentyn Kowata on the par 3 16th hole. His ace was the first during the CCAA Championships in 2022. Kowata carded a 73 on Tuesday. With the ace, he had one eagle, and also had one birdie in the round.
Through two rounds, the Pioneers are led by
Fraser Owenson, who is tied for 10th on the leaderboard. With his even par 72 performance on Tuesday, Owenson currently has a score of 6-over-par 150 with six birdies through two rounds.
Xavier Coreno had five birdies on Tuesday, including a stretch of four birdies on five holes played. He also has 22 even par holes to lead the Pioneers in the category.
Ananjan Kaushik and
Tommy Jernigan carded a 77 on Tuesday.
Sonoma State is the team leading the tournament going into Wednesday. Currently atop the leaderboard is Matthew Pennington from Cal State San Marcos at 2-under-par 142.
Tee time for the third round is scheduled for 8 a.m. from Yocha Dehe Golf Club on Wednesday.
