LOS ANGELES/DAVIS, Calif. – The Cal State East Bay men's track team competed in one event, 5000 meters, in the Occidental Distance Carnival and UC Davis Spring Break Classic.
Cole McKain led all Pioneer runners in the event, completing the distance run in 14-minutes, 45.72-seconds. McKain placed 42
nd overall among 246 total runners in the men's 5000 meters.
Two other runners for the Pioneers competed in the Aggie Open on the campus of UC Davis.
Dylan Shubert finished the men's 1500 meters in 4:17.97, while
Sebastian Garcia completed the 3000 meters in 9:34.06.
WOMEN'S RECAP
Occidental Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic,
Claire Fisher led the Cal State East Bay women's track team, finishing the distance event in 17:40.35 seconds, placing 14th. Three Pioneers finished in the top-20 among 142 runners.
Other top-20 finishes for CSUEB included
Chase Worthen's 15
th place finish, less than a second behind Fisher, at 17:41.03 and a 19
th place finish by
Leza Cassidy, with a finish of 17.48.95.
Two Pioneers also competed in the 800 meters in the Aggie Open on the campus of UC Davis.
Veronica Valenton and
Ashley Trout finished with times of 2:27.10 and 2:36.08 respectively.
On Saturday, March 19, the Pioneers are scheduled to participate in the Cardinal Classic on the campus of Stanford University.
