CHICO, Calif. - The final CCAA Volleyball Player of the Week awards for the 2022 season were announced Monday. From Cal State East Bay,
Taylor Miche was named Defensive Player of the Week for performances from October 31 to November 6.
The the final two matches of the regular season for Cal State East Bay, Miche combined for 47 digs, averaging 5.2 per set. In Saturday's regular season finale, a 3-2 win for the Pioneers over Cal Poly Humboldt, Miche had a career-high 25 digs, helping the Pioneers secure the #4 seed in the upcoming CCAA Tournament.
Miche finished the season with the highest average digs-per-set on the team with 3.35.
The weekly honor for Miche is the second of its kind for Cal State East Bay this season. For the week of October 10-16,
Kara Green was named CCAA Defensive Player of the Week.
Although the 2022 regular season has wrapped up for the CCAA, the Pioneers' journey continues this coming Thursday when they take on Sonoma State in the opening round of the 2022 CCAA Tournament. The matchup takes place at The Sports Center in San Marcos with an opening serve set for 5:30 p.m.
