HAYWARD, Calif. — Following another successful season on the court and in the classroom, the Cal State East Bay volleyball team has earned the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award.

The Pioneers posted a 3.53 team grade-point average during the 2025-26 academic year, surpassing the 3.30 GPA required to receive the national honor. Cal State East Bay was one of 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball programs recognized by the AVCA for its academic achievement.

The award caps a memorable year for the Pioneers, who finished the 2025 season with a 14-14 overall record and secured a berth in the CCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season. East Bay's return to the conference postseason highlighted another successful campaign while showcasing the program's commitment to excellence both on the court and in the classroom.
