UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - On Saturday morning, the Cal State East Bay men's cross country team got a preview of the course that will be the site of the 2022 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. The Pioneers competed in the Men's 8k Division II run at the NCAA D2 Pre-Nationals, which took place at Chamber Creek Regional Park.
As a team, the Pioneers finished 18th among 27 teams.
Individually,
Cole McKain was the top finisher from Cal State East Bay, placing 100th among 223 entries. He completed the 8k in 25 minutes, 45.8 seconds.
Running a personal best 8k time on Saturday was
Chas O'Bear, who finished in 26:39.4.
Colorado School of Mines was the team champion, with the top three individual finishes. The top finisher was Dillon Powell of Mines with a time of 23:19.8.
With the 2022 regular season concluding for Cal State East Bay, the next meet for the Pioneers is the CCAA Championships, taking place on Saturday, November 5 at Palo Corona Cross Country Trail in Carmel, California. Start time for the men's 8k is set for 9 a.m.
