SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Cal State East Bay men's cross country opened the 2026 season Friday with a 13th-place team finish at the USF Invite at Golden Gate Park.
The Pioneers totaled 378 points in the 8K race, led by Phillip Logan, who crossed the finish line in 25:32.8 to place 58th overall.
Dylan Baptista followed as East Bay's second finisher, placing 87th with a time of 26:12.7. Elijah Fordham crossed in 26:40.4 to finish 114th overall.
Nestor Alvarado was next for East Bay, finishing 125th in 26:48.9, while John Funderburg completed the Pioneers' five scoring runners with a 131st-place finish in 26:57.3.
Ethan Stockdale followed in 138th with a time of 27:04.9, and Brandon Simpson rounded out East Bay's group of finishers in 142nd at 27:09.3.
Cal State East Bay returns to competition Friday, Sept. 18 at the St. Mary's Invite at Newhall Park in Concord. The meet is scheduled to begin at 8:00 a.m.
