HAYWARD, Calif. - A four match win streak came to an end for the Cal State East Bay women's volleyball team on Thursday evening. Although the Pioneers won the opening set, Stanislaus State took the next three for a 3-1 win (15-25, 25-14, 25-10, 25-19) at Pioneer Gymnasium.
The opening set was much controlled by the Pioneers. The set finished with a kill from
Megan Crecelius. In the opening set,
Karis Carter had four kills on six attempts.
However, the Warriors responded in the second set with a 25-14 win to even the match at 1-1. Through two sets,
Alexandria Gloria had six kills on 10 attempts with no errors.
The lowest scoring set for the Pioneers was the third set, as they were held to only 10 points, with four kills.
Lexi Pagani had two of the four kills in the third set.
Despite a greater challenge from Cal State East Bay in set four, the Warrior prevailed with a 25-19 win and a 3-1 match victory.
- Gloria finished with a team-high 10 kills and a .562 attack percentage.
- Defensively, Kara Green had 13 digs.
- At the net, Mia Jordan had three total blocks.
- For the Warriors, Macky Morris had 14 kills.

This coming Saturday, the Pioneers host the final match of a five-match homestand when they take on Chico State from Pioneer Gymnasium at 3 p.m. On September 23, Cal State East Bay defeated the Wildcats, 3-1.
