HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay men's golf team closed out the 2021 season with an 16th place finish this week at NCAA Division II West/South-Central Regionals, held over three days at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash.
 
The Pioneers fell down the team standings early in the tourney as they finished with a team total of 910 (+46).
 
Xavier Coreno was East Bay's most consistent player and ended up as the highest-finishing individual as well. The junior shot 76-74-73 (223 +5) which earned him a share of 36th place in the individual field.
 
Sophomores Ryan Hong and Fraser Owenson both finished tied for 61st overall after shooting 230 over the course of tournament play. Tommy Jernigan followed with a total score of 231 with teammate Aaron Lee just one stroke behind him.
