HAYWARD, Calif. — The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team looks to continue its hot streak on the road this weekend, as the Pioneers travel to Southern California to face Cal State LA on Friday, Oct. 8 beginning at 7 p.m., before facing Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 11:30 a.m.
Both contests will be streamed live on CCAA Network, and live stats will be available.
East Bay has never defeated Cal State LA as a member of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), and has only two wins all-time as a member of the conference against Cal Poly Pomona.
CSUEB (5-2-1, 2-0 CCAA) is off to its first-ever 2-0 start in CCAA play, as the Pioneers earned a double-overtime home victory against Cal State Dominguez Hills on Oct. 1, 3-2, and pitched a shutout in a home win over Cal State Monterey Bay on Oct. 3, 2-0.
Senior
Tami Kwong became the first Pioneer in program history to earn CCAA Player of the Week honors on Oct. 5, after knocking through the golden-goal game winner in the overtime victory against the Toros, before adding a first-half goal in Sunday's victory over the Otters.
It was Kwong's third CCAA conference player of the week honor, earning the first two as a member of San Francisco State in 2017 and 2018. A native of Pleasanton, Kwong leads East Bay this season with four goal and eight total points.
Freshman
Kylie Newman has recorded two goals and two assists this season, ranking second on the team with six total points. Senior

Jenna Villanueva (one goal, three assists) have all amassed five total points this season.

Kayla Morales leads all Pioneer position players with 744 minutes played and has two assists, while junior
Jill Nelsen has logged 729 minutes with one assist. Junior goalkeeper
Jordan Smith has tallied 21 saves this season with a 0.84 goals against average.
