CHICO, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay baseball team dropped both ends of their California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) road doubleheader to Chico State, Saturday afternoon, February 29 inside Nettleton Stadium.

With a pair of losses, East Bay falls to 10-5 overall on the season with a 6-5 mark in CCAA play with one game left to go in the four-game series.

In the opening game of the doubleheader, the Wildcats rallied from an, 8-6 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning capped off by a two-run homer to left field followed by walk-off deep single to center field to give Chico State the, 9-8 victory.

AJ Curtis paced the Pioneers with a season-best four hits, including his team-leading second triple of the season, with two RBI and two runs scored.
Ryan McSwain and
Jordan Macias both finished with two hits each. McSwain picked up a RBI, scored a run and drew one walk while Macias collected two RBI for CSUEB.

Brian Martinez got the start on the mound for the Pioneers and racked four strikeouts through 3.1 innings of action.
Ryan Robinson saw action on the hill next and forced one groundout.
Connor Fleharty and
Derek Flowers each registered one strikeout apiece.
Matt Woinarowicz garnered a fly out and
Mark Woinarowicz (L, 2-1) recorded his first loss on the mound this season.

Omar Sanchez compiled a team-high three RBI to go along with one hit.
Samuel Esparza scored three runs in the ball game and notched one hit.
Jake Ruiz and
Robert Lujan each recorded one hit each for the Pios.

In the doubleheader finale, the Pioneers struggled to find offense against a tough Wildcat defense. East Bay finished with a season-low three total hits in the ballgame as Chico State closed the afternoon with a, 5-0 victory.

Tim O'Dalaigh all compiled one hit apiece for East Bay.

Dylan Dudley (L, 0-1) got the start on the hill for the Pioneers and racked up a career-best eight strikeouts in just 5.1 innings on action.
Matt Woinarowicz gave up a hit and walked a batter while
Tristin Tatum struck out one Wildcats in 0.2 innings on the hill.

The Pioneers will look to avoid the series sweep for the Wildcats and end the weekend on a positive not in the series finale on Sunday morning at Nettleton Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
