SEASIDE, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay men's golf team wrapped up their fall season with their best showing of the season as they placed fourth out of 16 teams at the 2019 Otter Invitational hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at Bayonet Golf Course.

Senior
Max Murai led the Pioneers as he tied with a seventh place individual finish. Murai notched his first top 10 finish of the season as he opened the opening two rounds with back-to-back 69's (-3) on the par 72 course. Murai finshed the tournament with a 79 (+7) in the final round to lock in a share of the seventh place finish. He finished with a 217 overall for the tournament.

Joey Herrera and freshman
Ryan Hong both took home a share of 18th place in the tournament. Herrera got the tournament started with a 74 (+2) in the first round before following up with a 71 (-1) and 77 (+5) in the last two rounds of the invitational to compile a 222 overall. Hong began the competition by shooting a 75 (+3) before notching a 73 (+1) in the second round. Hong concluded the final round with a 74 (+2) to finish with a 222 and a share of 18th place with teammate
Joey Herrera.

Moses Greene turned in another solid performance for CSUEB as he finished the Otter Invitational with an overall score of 229 which was tied for 43rd. Greene kicked things off by shooting two 78's (+6) in the first two rounds. Greene improved in his final round as he shot just one under par 73 (-1) to help improve his final standing to a share of 43rd place.

Freshman
Fraser Owenson finished with an overall score of 234 which was tied for 60th overall. Owenson shot a 78 (+6) in the opening round before following up with an 81 (+9). Owenson saved his best for last as he finished the final round with a 75 (+3).

The Pioneers will not take the course again until they take part in the Bay Area Invitational hosted by Holy Names University at The Club at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton on February 23-25.
