East Bay Women's Track Place 11th at CCAA Championships

TURLOCK, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay women's track and field team finished 11th in the annual California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships hosted by Stanislaus State May 3-5 at Warrior Stadium.
 
Freshman Angelina Ronquillo (Bakersfield. Calif.) logged a 5th place finish in the 1500m event with a time of 4:40.81. Senior Cecilia Carretero (Modesto, Calif.)also captured a top-10 finish in the 1500m event placing 9th in a time of 4:43.56.
 
Freshman Makenna Duda (Trabuca Canyon, Calif.) logged a 19th place finish in the preliminary round of the 1500m with a time of 5:03.37. Sophomores Andrea Romero (Delano, Calif.) and Alondra Castro Ortiz (Pomona, Calif.) notched back-to-back finishes in the event with times of 5:08.91 (23rd) and 5:11.98 (24th) respectively.
 
Sophomore Brittney Duquette (Claremont, Calif.) recorded a 12th place finish in the 800m event crossing the line in a time of 2:18.99. Senior Kathrine Embody (Castro Valley, Calif.) notched a 23rd place finish in a time of 2:32.41.
 
Freshman Claire Fisher (Mililani, Hawaii) was the lone Pioneer runner in the 10,000m event recording a 12th place finish in a time of 39:48.97.
 
Senior Dana Pollard (Modesto, Calif.) placed 19th in the 5000m event in a time of 19:50.14.
 
East Bay had two different relay teams compiled top-10 finishes. In the 4x100m relay event, the team of Shelby Parker, Yingfei Zhang (Nanjing, China), Elizabeth Cocker (Rancho Cordova, Calif.) and Sam Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) finished 10th in a time of 1:06.99.
 
In the 4x400m relay team of Jodi Go (Hilo, Hawaii), Makenna Duda, Andrea Romero and Alondra Castro Ortiz logged a 10th place finish with a time of 4:29.96.
