HAYWARD, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay men's track and field team performed well at the SF State Invitational hosted at Chabot College March 30 & 31.
Junior
Israel Sotelo (Porterville, Calif.) won his heat in the 800m event with a time of 1:59.11. Sotelo was also featured in the 1500m event as he finished in a time of 4:09.49.
The Pioneers had several runners compete in the 5000m event led by
Esteban Leon (Oxnard, Calif.) who logged a time of 15:35.67.
Pedro Cruz (Arvin, Calif.) followed with a time of 15:44.41. Freshman
Luke Calubayan (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) and sophomore
Luke Laehy (Temecula, Calif.) rounded out CSUEB runners with times of 15:51.27 and 16:23.31.
Junior
Ronaldo Flores (Port Hueneme, Calif.) finished the 1-mile event in 30th place in a time of 4:53.03. Senior
Zach Kanlong (Twentynine Palms, Calif.) registered a time of 34:13.15 in the 10,000m event.
Brett Fuchs (Folsom, Calif.) completed the 400m event in a time of 1:13.42.
The CSUEB 4X100m relay team of
Ben Reiter (Pleasant Hill, Calif.),
Keith Moreno (Maywood, Calif.),
Argenis Torres (Patterson, Calif.) and
Jeremy Shaw (Milpitas, Calif.) finished 8th with a time 57.35.
The Pioneers will travel north to Chico, Calif. for the Chico State Distance Carnival on Saturday afternoon, April 7 at University Stadium.
