TURLOCK, Calif., -- The Pioneers women's track & field team had a host of fantastic finishes in the 1500 m event during the Kim Duyst Invitational hosted by Stanislaus State.
The Pioneers had a trio of runners lock top 10 finishes led by
Angelina Ronquillo (Bakersfield, Calif.) who placed 4th with a time 4:47.38.
Cecilia Carretero (Modesto, Calif.) followed with a 6th place finish in 4:48.22 and
Claire Fisher (Temecula, Calif.) logged an 8th place finish in 4:55.17.
CSUEB was also had another triplet of runners to make top 15 finishes in the 1500 m event.
Megan Satterfield (Granada Hills, Calif.) finished 11th in 4:59.11. She was followed by back-to-back finishes in 14th and 15th places by Alondra Ortiz (Pomona, Calif.) and
Andrea Romero (Delano, Calif.) in time s of 5:05.00 and 5:06.30.
East Bay rounded out the 1500 m event with
Katherine Embody (Castro Valley, Calif.) (5:22.78),
Jodi Go (Hilo, Hawaii) (5:34.20) and Sam Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) (5:44.80) all placing respectable finishes.
Brittney Duquette (Claremont, Calif.) was the lone Pioneers to compete in the 800 m event finishing with a time of 2:24.92, good for an 8th place finish.
Cal State East Bay will return to action when they compete in the Occidental Distance Carnival in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 10.
