TURLOCK, Calif., -- The Cal State East Bay men's track & field team had another solid showing at their second meet of the season, posting good numbers in distance and sprint events at the Kim Duyst Invitational hosted by Stanislaus State.
Pedro Cruz (Arvin, Calif.) had an impressive performance with a top 10 finish in the 1500 m event. Cruz clocked a time of 4:04.43.
Cruz was followed by
Esteban Leon (Oxnard, Calif.) who placed 12th with a time of 4:07.46. Isreal Sotelo (Porterville, Calif.) logged a top 20 finish as well crossing the finish line with a time of 4:10.43.
Jeremy Shaw (Milpitas, Calif.) (4:13.95),
Zach Kanlong (Twentynine Palms, Calif.) (4:17.11),
Luke Calubayan (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) (4:20.06),
Luke Laehy (Temecula, Calif.) (4:25.09) and
Ronaldo Flores (Port Hueneme, Calif.) (4:29.22) all rounded out the 1500 m event for East Bay on the afternoon.
Ben Reiter (Pleasant Hill, Calif.),
Keith Moreno (Maywood, Calif.) and
Argenis Torres (Patterson, Calif.) all competed in the 100 m sprint, placing 23rd, 24th and 26 in times of 12.81, 12.96 and 14.67 respectively.
The Pioneers closed out the afternoon with
Brett Fuchs (Folsom, Calif.) and
Jared Johnson (Los Altos, Calif.) competing in the 400 m event. Fuchs placed 27th in 56.90 and Johnson finished 28th in 56.94.
Cal State East Bay will return to action when they compete in the Occidental Distance Carnival in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 10.
