Sacramento, Calif., -- Senior Zach Kanlong (Twentynine Palms, Calif.) set a new personal record in the 5000 m event with a time of (15:48.98) as the Cal State East Bay men's and women's track and field teams participated in the Sacramento State Hornet Invitational at Hornet Stadium on Saturday afternoon, March 17.
 
Israel Sotelo (Porterville, Calif.) finished 38th with a time 1:58.07 of in the 800 m event and Jeremy Shaw (Milpitas, Calif.) followed 48th with a time of 1:59.30.
 
Andrea Romero (Delano, Calif.) (2:28.79) and Alondra Castro Ortiz (Pomona, Calif.) (2:29.78) finished back-to-back for the Pioneers in the 800 m event.
 
The men's and women's track and field teams will travel to the Humboldt Invitational Saturday, March 24 in Arcata, Calif.
