SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay cross country teams ran in their final regular season meet on Saturday, as the Pioneers competed at the annual Bronco Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara University at Baylands Regional Park.
East Bay's top athletes did not race on Saturday with just seven days remaining before California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA Championships). Instead, head coach
Tony Nicolosi sent three men and six women to Baylands as he attempts to lock down the 10 runners from each team to send to the championship meet.
On the men's side,
Jeremy Shaw led the way with a 74th place finish in the field of 155, mostly made up of Division I and II runners.
Luke Laehy took 112th on the 8k course, followed by
Cameron Olson in 127th.
Freshman
Rosalva Quevado paced the Pioneer women, taking 30th place individually in the 6k field. She finished just ahead of sophomore
Alondra Castro Ortiz in 33rd and
Andrea Contreras in 37th.Â
The women's squad took sixth place in the Non-Division I team standings with 131 points. Below are the full CSUEB results.
