HAYWARD, Calif. -- The Cal State East Bay women's soccer team returns to the Hayward hills this week for a pair of home games after opening the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) schedule on the down down south.

CSUEB hosts defending conference champion and No, 22 ranked Sonoma State on Friday evening, then closes out the week with an 11:30 a.m. contest against Humboldt State Sunday morning

WEEK IN REVIEW
The Pioneers will look to bounce back from a pair of shutout losses in the first weekend of conference play. They played tight games against both Cal State L.A. and Cal State Dominguez Hills, but couldn't find the back on the net on offense, resulting in final scores of 2-0 and 1-0.

CSUEB has now dropped four straight after starting the regular season with a win and two ties in the first three games.

PIONEER POINTS
East Bay has been held scoreless in three of their last four games overall, and for the season they're the lowest-scoring team in the CCAA with four total goals.

Two of those goals are from senior Megan Ravenscroft, and they both came in a tough 3-2 loss at Seattle Pacific. Ravenscroft has 16 goals in her four-year career, tied for 11th in program history.

Tia Sidtikun and Janis Gamboa have each netted a goal as well, and Savannah Schultz leads the team with two assists on the year.

Goalkeeper Jasmine Corbett has started every game and recorded two shutouts. With 32 saves this season, she ranks fifth among CCAA goalies averaging 4.57 saves per game.

SCOUTING SONOMA STATE
The Seawolves, who boasted one of the nation's top defenses in last year's championship season, have picked up where they left off. SSU has given up just two goals in six games and recorded 2-0 wins over both Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona to open CCAA play. Offensively, Sonoma is led by Katie Mohr and Taylor Enzier, who each have two goals and an assist.

SCOUTING HUMBOLDT STATE
The Jacks have allowed the second-most goals in the conference this season with 10, they've allowed multiple goals in four straight games, and they've faced the most shots on goal on any CCAA team. HSU outlasted Cal State San Bernardino last Friday for a 3-2 win before falling 2-1 to Cal Poly Pomona on Sunday. Alex Jenkins and Bridget Daley are the team's top scorers with two goals each.
