SAN FRANCISCO -- The Cal State East Bay men's cross country team ran in the San Francisco State Invitational on Friday at Golden Gate Park in their final race before the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) championships.Â
"We held a few guys out in order to be ready for the conference championship, but overall we had a solid day," said head coach
Tony Nicolosi. "The men who ran today stepped up, and they're starting to consistently perform at a higher level."
Sophomore
Kyle Fetter was East Bay's top finisher, completing the 8k course in 28:15.8 to take 164th place in the field of 241 runners.

Zach Kanlong (28:33.7) and freshman
Cameron Olson (28:36.1) finished close together, notching 173rd and 175th place, respectively. Freshman
Noah Siegel closed out East Bay's day in 211th place with a time of 30:12.6.
"We gained a lot of confidence today that we can come back in two weeks and have our best performance at CCAA Championships since this program joined the conference," Nicolosi added. Â
The 2015 CCAA Championships are set for Sunday, Oct. 25 in Golden Gate Park on the same course the Pioneers ran today. Â
