SAN MATEO, Calif.
– The Pioneer women's track team performed well at their second meet of the spring season, hosted by College of San Mateo on Friday afternoon.

Leading the way for the Pioneers was Lauren McGlory, who competed in both the long and triple jumps. McGlory had a leap of 18'2 ¼ to take the long jump, and completed the sweep with a mark of 38'7 in the triple. Her triple jump exceeded the NCAA provisional qualifying distance of 38'6 ¼. She finished off a solid afternoon with a time of 12.42, good for third place, in the 100 meters.

"Lauren had a complete day," East Bay head Coach Ralph Jones said. "She was dominant in the jumps, turned in a PR in the 100 meters, and ran a killer leg in the 4 x 100 meter relay."

Imani Heath turned in a personal best time of 2:15.40 to capture the 800 Meters. Her time was just one second off the NCAA provisional qualifying time.

"I felt Imani ran a very controlled race," Jones said. "She stayed in third coming into the final turn and finished strong to win the race."

Robin McClinton placed fourth in the 800 in 2:18.91. Camille Hansen took seventh place in the same race with a personal best time of 2:28.43.

Suzanne Bateson finished fourth in the 400 meters in a personal best time of 61.01.

"Suzanne performed well to get fourth place," Jones said. "She was right in the thick of the race for most of the way."

In the sprints, Corryn Barney (12.94) placed sixth, while Donnisha Brown (13.51) took 13th in the 100 meters. In the 200 meters, Samira Foy was tenth in 27.94.

Sydney Johnson crossed the finish line in 1:14.07 to finish third in the 400 meter hurdles.

The foursome of McGlory, Bateson, Chanelle Norwood, and Barney recorded a time of 48.96 to place second in the 4 x 100 meter relay. In the 4 x 400 relay, the quartet of Barney, McClinton, Bateson, and Foy claimed third place with a time of 4:12.76.

"It was good meet for our women's track team," Jones added. "We're competing and getting better as the season progresses."
