CHICO, Calif. – Anthony Gaines had two solid performances in the sprints, and Daniel Damian posted a top-25 CCAA time in the 5000 meters to highlight the Pioneer men's track team's afternoon at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Chico State on Saturday. Cal State East Bay finished eighth in the final team standings.

Gaines recorded a top-20 CCAA time of 23.12 to place 13th in the 200 Meters. He also scored in the 400 Meters, taking eighth place with a top-20 conference mark of 52.41.

Damian took fourth in the 5000, completing the race in a time of 17:05.95.

Will Weekes ran a pair of races and claimed ninth place in both the 800 meters and 1500 meters. Weekes' time of 4:04.17 in the 1500 is currently among the top 10 in the CCAA.

Austin Brown took ninth in the 400 meters with a season-best time of 53.99 and 27th in the 200 meters in 25.24. Alejandro Acosta turned in a season-best time of 1:04.69 to claim eighth place in 400 meter hurdles.

Jose Mejia-Gonzalez and Irvin Parada finished ninth and 16th, respectively, in the 5000 meters. Michael Manalastas doubled in the 100 meters, finishing in 12.69, and 200 meters, clocking a time of 26.75.
