BERKELEY, Calif. – Will Weekes and Gavin Ramos turned in record performances at the Brutus Hamilton Meet, hosted by Cal-Berkeley on Friday.

Weekes and Ramos went finished first and second in their 800 meter section at the Brutus Hamilton Meet and took 4th and 7th overall. Both runners ran lifetime best times. Weekes' time of 1:55.75 and Ramos' time 1:56.95 rank them 10th and 11th in the CCAA 800 meter rankings, respecitvely. Their times are also the 7th and 9th fastest times ever run by a Pioneer 800-meter runner.

Pioneer head track coach Ralph Jones had nothing but praise for his two runners. “Will took a commanding lead and ran a controlled race. He's really competing well and ran a superb race today." 

"Gavin set a PR for the second straight week," Jones added. "I believe Gavin has found a race he can have success in. Their performances will give us some good options going into in the CCAA Championships next week”

Friday turned out to be a great prep race for both Weekes and Ramos going into the CCAA Track Championships, which will be held May 2-4.
