CHICO, Calif.
– The Pioneer men's track team completed in five races on the second and final night of competition at the Chico State Twilight and Distance Carnival on Saturday night.

Will Weekes led the way for the Pioneers in the 1500 meters. Weekes finished sixth out of 37 runners with a time of 4:02.99. Gavin Ramos took 24th in the event with a time of 4:10.90.

Anthony Gaines doubled in the 100 and 200 meters. Gaines was eighth among all four-year collegiate runners with a 100 time of 11.75 sec. He followed that up with a solid time of 23.88 sec. to take 27th place overall in the 200 meters.

Orlando Ramirez finished 12th in the 800 meters with a time of 2:10.08.

On Friday night, Daniel Damian finished fifth out of 12 runners in the 3000 steeplechase. Damien, who defeated a runner from CCAA rival Humboldt State, was clocked in 10:09.94.

Jose Gonzalez-Mejia took 54th place in the 5000 meters in 16:35.99.

The Pioneers will be competing at the Woody Wilson Relays on April 20.
