TURLOCK, Calif. – The Pioneer women's track field performed well in their season opener at the Stanislaus Invitational on Saturday.
Freshman
Imani Heath captured the 800 meters. Heath finished ahead of 13 competitors with a time of 2:24.40.
Shatahlai Wright finished ninth in the 800 meters in 2:44.50.
Celina Vera looked sharp in her opening meet, taking the 1500 meters in 5:11.30 and placing fifth in the 3000 meters in 10:54.64.
Megan Osten clocked a time of 11:23.39 to take eighth place in the 3000 meters.
Chelsea Ingram rounded out a good performance by the Pioneers with a fifth place effort in the 400 meters (1:18.2).
“I was very pleased with the way the women competed and found a way to win even in very adverse conditions,” Pioneer Head
Ralph Jones said.
The Pioneers will be competing at the Kim Duyst Invitational on March 2.
