HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay women's soccer will wrap up a four-match road trip this weekend with contests at San Francisco State and Cal State Monterey Bay. The Pioneers will hope to keep their recent momentum going to make a late push for a chance at the second transfer spot into the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament.

"We are preparing for another tough week of competition in the CCAA. At this point, there is still the opportunity for a lot of teams to participate in the CCAA tournament and we hope to be fighting for one of those spots," said East Bay Head Coach Amy Gerace.

Cal State East Bay at San Francisco State – (Friday, Oct. 18)
The visiting Pioneers will look to sweep the 2013 edition of the 'Battle of the Bay' after defeating the Gators 3-0 back on Sept. 29. CSUEB newcomers Sara Silva, Bekah Anderson, and Megan Ravenscroft each scored in the victory.

Both squads will enter Friday's game on three-match unbeaten streaks. Cal State East Bay is coming off back-to-back draws and has earned a point in 4-of-5 matches since playing San Francisco State in late September. Ravenscroft leads the team with three goals and has scored a point in each of the past four games in which East Bay either tied or won.

SFSU defeated Chico State and Humboldt State before a scoreless overtime draw with then No. 19 nationally ranked Sonoma State. The Gators rank last in the conference having scored just six goals in 12 games, and the Pioneers are one spot ahead with eight.

CSUEB's Donna Williams (71) and SFSU's Allison Land (63) sit atop the CCAA leaderboard in saves this season. Williams is coming off back-to-back nine save performances on the road against Cal State L.A. and Cal State Dominguez Hills. Land has not allowed an opponent to score over the past three-plus matches spanning over 320 minutes of game action.

Cal State East Bay at Cal State Monterey Bay – (Sunday, Oct. 20)
The Otters got the better of the Pioneers back on Sept. 17 edging out a 1-0 decision in a game with limited scoring chances. Monterey Bay's Jami Murray scored the game's only goal and currently ranks third in the CCAA with seven goals this season. She has provided more than half (7-of-13) of her team's goals this year.

CSUMB goalkeeper Lily Garza ranks second in the league with her .837 save percentage and has recorded the solo shutout in each of her past two appearances. Garza has allowed only one goal over the past 380 minutes and has four solo shutouts this year.

Cal State East Bay can vault into third place in the CCAA North Division standings with a pair of wins this weekend. The Pioneers are currently tied with San Francisco State for fourth with 11 points, and Cal State Monterey Bay sits in third with 14 points entering this weekend's action.
