LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Pioneer women's and men's track teams turned in a solid effort at the CCAA Track and Field Championships at Cal State L.A. on May 4-5.

Tiffany Duffy ran a strong race in the 1500 Meters. We definitely have something to build on for next season.”
On the women's side,
Tiffany Duffy missed qualifying by six places in the 1500 Meters, posting a time of 5:07.36 in the prelims. Duffy's time was a second off her season-best mark.
Nastassia Hamor finished with a time of 5:26.13.
Three Pioneer sprinters recorded season-best times in the 100 Meters.
Chelsea Ingram posted a time of 14.41, while
Diaji Smith was timed in 14.51 in the prelims.
Ikay Mwanangele had a season-best time of 14.51. Mwanangele recorded a mark of 14:06.00 in Flight 2 in the Long Jump. Her jump was good for 15th place.
In the prelims of the 200 Meters,
Eugenie Foote posted a season-best time of 27.10.
On the men's side, Burtland Dixon came within four places of reaching the finals in the 100 Meters. He recorded a season-best time of 11.15. Kristian Arnold also turned in a season-best time of 11.85 in the 100 Meters.
In the 200 Meters, Dixon led a trio of Pioneer runners with a time of 23.26. Anthony Gaines turned in a season-best time of 23.33. Arnold was clocked in 24.27.
Gaines ran a time of 53.96 in the prelims of the 400 Meters.
Francisco Pulido concluded a busy day for the Pioneer track teams with a 12th place finish in the 10,000 Meters. Pulido turned in a personal-best time of 36.17.26.
John Vergara was Pioneers' lone competitor on May 5. Vergara posted a time of 4:22.89 to take 14th place in the 1500 Meters.
