DAVIS, Calif. – The Pioneer men's track team received a solid effort from their quarter-milers at the Woody Wilson Relays on April 21.
The trio of Burtland Dixon, Anthony Gaines and Kristain Arnold all turned in a solid performance in the 400 Meters. Dixon recorded a season-best time of 51.46. Gaines, who took an early lead in the race, finished with a time of 53.30. Arnold had a season-best time of 54.74.
“All three runners ran well,” Pioneer coach
Ralph Jones said. “They attacked the race and came away with good results.”
John Vergara recorded a time of 4:44.10 in the 1500 Meters.
On the women's side,
Tiffany Duffy ran the 1500 Meters in 5:27.22.
Ikay Mwanangele had a mark of 14-00.50 in the Long Jump.
“This was a very competitive meet with many outstanding runners,” Jones said. “The Meet was a good learning experience and should prepare us for the CCAA Championships in two weeks.”
