CLAREMONT, Calif. – Kaitlyn Smith ran a strong race in the 1500 Meters to lead the Pioneer women's track team performance at the California-Nevada Championships hosted by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on March 31-April 1.
Smith posted a time of 5:05.08 to earn 12th place honors.
Tiffany Duffy and
Nastassia Hamor recorded times of 5:24.55 and 5:32.54 to place 16th and 17th respectively.
“It was a great experience for our runners to face Division I and top collegiate competition in the 1500 Meters,” Pioneer coach
Ralph Jones said. “Kaitlyn went out on a quick pace and we tried to run together. We learned a valuable lesson from the race.”
Eugenie Foote recorded a prelim time of 61.93 in the 400 Meters. In addition,
Jasmain Mack posted a prelim time of 13.71 in the 100 Meters.
The Pioneers will compete at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on April 6.
