DAVIS, Calif. – The Pioneer women's and men's track teams had a good performance at the Aggie Open Invitational on March 10.
On the women's side, the Pioneers had three competitors in the 100 Meters. Diaji Smith led the trio with a 15.33 clocking (30th). Hazel Guitierrez (32nd) and Kayla Gonzalez (33rd) were timed in 17.19 and 17.27.
In the 400 meters, Eugenie Foote posted a time of 1:01.86 to finish in 17th place. Jennifer Polite finished with a time of 1:06.32 to place 23rd while Jasmain Mack was clocked in 1:11.11 to finish in 24th.
Kaitlyn Smith earned 21st place honors in the 1500 Meters with a time of 5:02.54. Nastassia Hamor ran a time of 5:17.36 to finish in 33rd.
Amanda McNabb rounded out the Pioneer women's performance with a 13th place showing in the 5000 meters. McNabb was timed in 20:02.39.
The men's team was led by sprinter
Burtland Dixon. In the 200 Meters, Dixon turned in a time of 23.41 to finish in 19th. Dixon earned 29th place honors in the 400 Meters with a clocking of 53.00.
Anthony Gaines also performed well in the sprints placing 28th in the 200 Meters in 24.08 and finishing 40th in the 400 Meters with a time of 55.47.
Kristain Arnold posted times of 25.20 and 56.34 to place 37th in the 200 Meters and 41st in the 400 Meters.
John Vergara finished 24th in the 800 Meters in 2:09.71 and 41st in the 1500 Meters with a time of 4:27.81.
Joel Becker was clocked in 4:19.38 to place 37th in the 1500 Meters.
