Fine individual performances have highlighted the Pioneers' 2011 season after two meets.

The Pioneers opened the season on January 29 at the Skyline All-Comers Meet. On the women's side, Nancy Velazquez recorded a time of 5:15.0 in the 1500 meters. Tiffany Duffy and Nastassia Hamor finished in 5:18.0 and 5:22.0 respectively. The men were led by Chris Gallagher who completed the 1500 meters in a time of 4:27.0. Erick Rodriguez was clocked in 4:39.0 while Francisco Pulido recorded a time of 4:42.0.

The Pioneers had a solid showing at the Davis Stampede on February 6. In the 5k, Velazquez was the fourth fastest woman and 28th overall, finishing in a time of 19:55.2. Gabriella Cruz finished in a time of 21:04.4 to place ninth in the women's division and 43rd overall. Hamor followed in 10th place and 46th overall in a time of 21:12.2.

Chris Gallagher finished third and topped all-runners 22 and younger in the 5k. Gallagher maintained a 5:30 pace to finish in a time of 17:02.6. Eric Rodriguez was fourth in 17:11.2. Antonio Arredondo recorded a time of 18:14.3 to finish in 11th place. John Vergara placed 16th in a time of 18:45.7.

In the 10k event, Megan McDaniel was the 10th fastest female and placed 38th overall in a time of 44:29.9.

In the Half Marathon, Amanda McNabb recorded the fifth fastest time in the women's division and 50th overall recording a time of 1:31.27.9.

Francisco Pulido was seventh overall in a time of 1:19.01.3. John Erlandson ran the Half Marathon in 1:29.03.3 to finish 36th.
