Smith turned in an incredibly impressive effort on Friday and Saturday by doubling in the 10,000 and 5,000 meter races. He placed seventh in the first event and eighth in the latter, becoming the first male Pioneer runner ever to score in the 5k as well as the first Pioneer to score in multiple track events at the CCAA meet. His 10k time of 32:43.04 is the seventh-fastest in school history, while his 5k mark of 15:10.45 ranks eighth all-time.
