AS A FRESHMAN (2010): Appeared in 11 games with two starts…Opened the season with five scoreless outings in six appearances…Led the pitching staff in holding pponents to a .272 batting average…Recorded 11 strikeouts in 17.1 innings.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: A four-year player baseball at Freedom High School… Pitched and played infield and outfield…Helped Freedom High School to the North Coast Section championship as a senior.

PERSONAL: A kinesiology major…Has one younger sister, Megan (17) and one younger brother, Miguel (16)…Interests include the outdoors, golf, and video games…Models himself after J.T. Snow…Favorite food is Bush’s Baked Beans…Lists “The Departed” and “Field of Dreams” as his favorite movies…Chose Cal State East Bay because of the baseball program…Born Sept. 29, 1991…Parents are Felipe and Terri Carvajal.
