Zach Wallace

Zach Wallace became the pitching coach for Cal State East Bay baseball in 2021. 

Since his time on on staff, he has seen Pioneer pitchers show success on the mound. In 2023, Ethan Brodsky became the program's single season strikeout leader with 91 while earning ABCA, NCBWA and D2 CCA Second Team All-West Region honors and First Team All-CCAA honors. In the same season, James Colyer was an outstanding relief pitcher, with 46 strikeouts in 24.2 innings on the mound, earning him five saves and two relief wins. Colyer's perfoemance led him to NCBWA All West Region Second Team and All-CCAA Second Team. 

Before arriving at the CSUEB campus, Wallace coached from 2019-2021 at Chabot College and served as pitching coach for the California Collegiate League's Walnut Creek Crawdads in summer 2021. 

Wallace played four seasons of baseball at San Jose State, with all four seasons being named a Academic All-Mountain West Scholar Athlete award winner. With the Spartans, he set a new record for appearances by a pitcher with 91 in his career and also had a single season record with 32. 

Wallace has a Bachelor of Science degree in Justice Studies from San Jose State University and a Master's of Sports and Health Sciences from American Public University. 

Wallace holds a Raspodo® Baseball Pitching Certification.
