Former Cal State East Bay pitcher Nick Hudson is in his third season on the coaching staff for the Pioneers in 2017-18, assisting in a variety of areas.
Hudson competed for the Pioneers for two seasons in 2013 and 2014 after transferring from UC San Diego. During that time, he pitched 1503.0 innings and helped lead the team to a 62-38 record. Hudson went 8-2 with a 3.25 ERA as a senior, leading the CCAA in innings and complete games during conference play and earning All-CCAA Second Team honors. When he graduated, he ranked 11th in program history with a 3.18 career ERA.
A native of Benicia, Calif., Hudson graduated from De La Salle High School in 2009. He helped lead the baseball team to the 2007 North Coast Section championship.
