Lauro Lopoz joined the Pioneers for the 2016-2017 season. He serves as an Assistant Coach and Player Development Consultant, installing structure and balance with an emphasis on performance for a Cal State East Bay student-athlete to flourish.
Prior to coming to CSUEB, Lauro served as a Varsity Assistant Coach for the men's golf team at Branson High School in Ross, Calif. He helped guide Branson to the 2015 Marin County Athletic League Championship and assisted in coaching the 2015 North Coast Section Individual Gold Medalist.
]In the Summer of 2010, Lopoz served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the men's basketball team at De La Salle High School in Concord, Calif., helping lead them finish as Division I State runner-up.
During the 2006-07 season, Lopoz served as a Varsity Assistant for the men's basketball team at Acalanes High School in Lafayette, Calif. That team compiled a 27-5 overall record, won the North Coast Section Division III championship, and finished as a NorCal Division III finalist with the No. 9 ranking in the state according to MaxPreps.
Lauro is a 2003 graduate of Boston College (BS Chemistry, BA Sociology). Prior to that, he prepped at De La Salle High School where he was a member of the undefeated North Coast Section and National champion football teams in 1997 and 1998.
