AS A JUNIOR (2016): Appeared in 13 games, making six starts... Ranked sixth on the team with 36.2 innings pitched... Posted 6.87 ERA and held opponents to .290 batting average... Tossed 3.0 hitless inning in his debut with the Pioneers on 2/6/16 vs. Academy of Art... Allowed one run in 3.1 innings of relief vs. CSUMB on 5/8/16 as the Pioneers clinched a tie for first place... Allowed just two runs in 9.2 innings in five appearances during a four-week run late in the season... Helped the Pioneers to a program-record 33 victories, a share of the CCAA North Division crown, the team's first-ever appearance in the CCAA Tournament, and the program's first trip to the NCAA West Regionals in 39 years.

AT FRESNO CITY COLLEGE (2013-15):  Attended and played baseball at Fresno City College for two years…Team was league champs in 2015…Made the Dean’s List in both 2014 & 2015.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Fresno High School in 2013…Played one year of varsity baseball…Team won NYL Championship in 2013…Was named Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year in 2013…Earned a spot on the honor roll.

PERSONAL: The son of Reuben and Debbie Acosta…Has two brothers named Joshua and Reuben III…Besides playing baseball, he likes going to the driving range and playing video games…Favorite athletes are Madison Bumgarner and Buster Posey…Likes to eat pasta, pizza, and chicken…Favorite movies are: The Other Guys, The Warrior, and The Fighter…Favorite TV shows include: Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chevelle, J. Cole, and Nirvana…Choose Cal State East Bay because it was a good fit baseball-wise  and likes the Statistics program at CSUEB.
