Following the LA Spring Kickoff, Cal State East Bay head coach
Alan Sue spoke about the team's performance. "Our ladies team really impressed with this showing in the spring season opener, stated Sue. "We were without one of our better players,
Denise Paulsson, but despite that challenge, the team stepped up. They committed to focusing on our process throughout the week and it showed in our results. We beat quite a few teams ranked in front of us in the region. If we can get this group to continue down this path, I see us moving up in the region and once again being a force at the regional championship. I'm very proud of this group and their efforts this week. We now have a few weeks to prepare for our home tournament at Corica Park."
Winning the 2026 LA Spring Kickoff was No. 50 Point Loma and from PLNU, Ally Nguyen was the medalist at 5-under-par 211.
The Pioneers return to action on February 23-24 when they host their own tournament, the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout, from Corica Park in Alameda. East Bay will look to defend its 2025 crown at its own tournament.
