This coming week of action for the Pioneers includes the PCSC Swimming and Diving Championships, softball in Turlock looking to build on their fast start and both basketball teams heading north to take on Humboldt and Chico State.

It's a three-team race for the final spots in the CCAA Tournament, as the Pioneers will look to gain ground and perhaps separation. East Bay lost two home games last week and will look to get back on track for the stretch run starting Thursday. On January 10, the Pioneers lost 93-68 to Cal Poly Humboldt and lost to Chico State on January 8, 74-56.

The No. 2 Pioneers are now the only unbeaten team in NCAA Division II as they take their streak into Cal Poly Humboldt on Thursday. Tyree Campbell is approaching the 1,000-point mark of his Cal State East Bay career as he is less than 50 points from that milestone.

East Bay is now ranked No. 5 in the nation coming off winning the tournament crown for the D2 West Coast Challenge. Marissa Quintero won three awards from her performances in the circle over this past weekend including the tournament's Most Outstanding Pitcher, FloCollege/CCAA Pitcher of the Week and Wilson/NFCA DII Pitcher of the Week.
