KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The NABC released its latest Division II Men's Basketball Top-25 rakings earlier this week. Cal State East Bay is ranked No. 12, the highest Division II ranking in program history after a 2025-26 season that has started 10-0 overall and 4-0 in CCAA action. Last week's 2-0 conference record catapulted the Pioneer up seven spots after a No.19 ranking.
The two wins were statement wins to make a case for a No. 12 ranking. On Friday, a balanced contribution by the Pioneers and a strong second half guided them to an 89-82 win over (RV) Cal State Dominguez Hills. The 2025 portion of the schedule wrapped up Sunday, as a furious comeback in the second half at Cal State LA to win 89-82 put East Bay at 10-0.
Prior to this week's rankings, the highest Division II national ranking the Pioneers reached was No. 17, in the final poll following the 1985-86 season which included a 24-8 overall record.
On January 2, 2026, the Pioneers will look to extend their win streak and perhaps climb the poll when they host Cal State San Bernardino in the first of four straight CCAA home games. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from Pioneer Gymnasium.
