Senior guard Ramsey Huff has made his mark on Cal State East Bay men's basketball through talent, hard work, and a deep sense of purpose. Standing 6-foot-1, Huff has been a consistent contributor since his freshman year, earning All-CCAA Honorable Mention as a junior while leading the team in three-pointers with 42 and posting a stellar .420 shooting percentage. He also recorded a team-high 60 assists and averaged 9.1 points per game, including two standout performances with 18 points against San Francisco State and Stanislaus State. His sophomore season saw him appear in 30 games, averaging 2.5 points and 1.5 rebounds, while his freshman year included 10 starts and a season-high 18 points at Cal State LA. This season already, Huff is a team captain on a Pioneer team with one of the best starts in program history.
Before joining the Pioneers, Huff starred at Centennial High School, setting the stage for his success at the collegiate level. He led his high school squad to a CIF State Open Division State Championship his senior year.
Huff chose Cal State East Bay because of its inclusive culture and the opportunity to showcase his talents while pursuing his business degree. "I chose Cal State East Bay because of the inclusive culture where I can showcase my talents while also being provided the opportunity to pursue my business degree," he says.
But before becoming part of the Pioneer culture, his inspiration came from his family, who have played a major role in his journey. "My parents have a big role in why I'm a collegiate athlete, making sure I balance academics and my sport," he shares.
As he looks ahead, Huff envisions a future that blends his love for basketball with his academic ambitions. "I'd love to play basketball professionally," he says, "But with my degree, I'm focusing my studies to becoming a financial advisor." Off the court, Huff enjoys video games, singing, stocks, and barbecue. His favorite athlete is Michael Jordan, his favorite movie is The Sandlot, and he's a fan of J. Cole's music.
Ramsey Huff embodies what it means to be a Pioneer - driven, versatile, and committed to excellence. Whether he's sinking threes or planning for life after basketball, Huff continues to make his mark at Cal State East Bay.
