ATHERTON, Calif. - In a CCAA volleyball match, Cal State East Bay fell to Stanislaus State with a final score of 3-1 (25-18, 25-9, 20-25, 25-21) on Saturday evening at Haynes-Prim Pavilion on the campus of Menlo College.
Stanislaus State dominated the first two sets before the Pioneers mounted a spirited comeback. East Bay's was on full display in the third set when they overcame a 14-10 deficit. A crucial kill from Fane Paua ignited a nine-point unanswered run, propelling the Pioneers to a 25-20 set win and extending the match.
The fourth set was a closely contested battle. However, a late 9-3 run by Stanislaus State sealed the set and the match, handing the Warriors a hard-fought 3-1 victory.
- Lexi Pagani led the charge for Cal State East Bay with an impressive double-double, notching 16 kills and 13 digs.
- Fane Paua was a force at the net, contributing six total blocks.
- Kale'a Kuamo'o continued her outstanding season, recording 15 digs and solidifying her position as the CCAA leader in digs-per-set with an average of 4.51.
