WAIKOLOA VILLAGE, Hawaii — Cal State East Bay's women's golf team secured a fifth-place finish out of 15 teams at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate tournament, which concluded Tuesday at the Village Course at Waikoloa. The two-day event, played over 36 holes on the par 72, 6,112-yard course, saw the Pioneers deliver a consistent performance across their lineup.

• All five Cal State East Bay golfers in the tournament — Torrie Bowman, Makena Ebster, Carlota Eroles, Jasmin Krishna, and Sophia Tejeda — finished in a tie for 19th place at 8-over 152.
• Bowman stood out in the final round with a team-low score of 75, while she and Ebster led the Pioneers with five birdies each over the tournament.

Cal State East Bay head coach Alan Sue reflected on the team's performance, saying, "The ladies had a good tournament to start the week. Today we unfortunately got a bit too results focused and lost our way for most of the round. I'm still encouraged at the talent and chemistry that this group has."

Missouri-St. Louis claimed the team title, while Madison Murr of Cal State San Marcos took individual medalist honors with an impressive 4-under 137.

The Pioneers will have little time to dwell on this performance as they prepare for their next tournament. Cal State East Bay will return to action this coming Friday and Saturday, October 25-26 at the Waikoloa Beach Resort Golf course, remaining in Waikoloa Village, Hawaii for the HPU Sharks Shootout to wrap up the 2024 fall season.
