HAYWARD, Calif. – Cal State East Bay played its final game of the regular season against Stanislaus State at Pioneer Baseball Field on Saturday. The Warriors defeated the Pioneers 3-1.

Anthony Perez were honored in a Senior Day ceremony for their contributions to Cal State East Bay baseball.
The Warriors took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning on a sacrifice fly RBI by JD Madrigal and doubled the lead to 2-0 in the top of the third on an RBI double from Alex Solis.
The Pioneers scored their lone run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when
Luke Brown doubled to left field for an RBI, driving in Esparza.
Stanislaus State added one more run in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly RBI from Solis.
Although
Cole Anderson and
Matthew O'Mahony were in scoring position in the bottom of the ninth, with O'Mahony representing the tying run, the Pioneers were unable to capitalize as the Warriors retired the final two batters for a 3-1 win.
- McWard led the Pioneers' offense going 2-3.
- Also with two hits on Saturday for the Pioneers was Anderson.
- In relief, Colyer pitched one inning and recorded two strikeouts. He finished the regular season with 46 strikeouts in just 23.2 innings in total.
- With the Warriors winning, they qualified for the CCAA Tournament and will meet the Pioneers on Wednesday. Cal State East Bay already clinched a spot in the tournament before Saturday's game.

The Pioneers will open the 2023 CCAA Baseball Tournament this coming Wednesday as they will take on Stanislaus State in an elimination game. CSUEB is the No. 3 seed facing the Warriors, who are the No. 6 seed. The tournament is hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay and will take place at Otter Sports Complex in Seaside. It has been since 2016 when the Pioneers last qualified for the CCAA Tournament.
