Trout Worthen AAD 2023

Trout and Worthen Receive Academic All-District® Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - On Wednesday, the 2022-23 Academic All-District® Teams for women's cross country and track were announced by College Sports Communicators. From Cal State East Bay, Ashley Trout and Chase Worthen were named to the team for NCAA Division II. 

To be honored, the student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA, and participated in at least 50 percent of the team's events during a season. The student-athlete must also be enrolled at the current institution for at least one calendar year prior to the nomination.

Trout ran multiple personal bests in 2022-23. During the cross country season, she ran her fastest 6k time of 26 minutes, 26.4 seconds in the SF State Invitational. She finished the 2023 track season strong with her best 400 meter time of 1:00.26 at the CCAA Championships. She also had a key role in the Pioneers' 4x400 relay team during track events. 

With her sixth place finish at the 2022 CCAA Championships, Worthen earned her way to the All-CCAA Women's Cross Country Team for a second straight year. In October, Worthen placed second at the SF State Invitational with a time of 21:35.4 which was the fastest time among all NCAA Division II runners in the women's 6k at the meet. Her finish earned her CCAA Runner of the Week honors. Worthen was also named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Athlete.
