After an outstanding October on the pitch, Cal State East Bay women's soccer sophomore midfielder Mika Sayfurahman was named Pioneer of the Month for October 2023. 

Throughout the month, Sayfurahman scored six goals and had two assists in nine matches. Her penalty kick goal on October 20 against Cal Poly Humboldt was the game winner. 

In two consecutive weeks during October, Sayfurahman was named Pixellot/CCAA Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. The program has received only three weekly awards all time from the CCAA, and Sayfurhman has two of them.
